Bhagavad Gita Chapter 1

Chapter 1 of the Bhagavad Gita marks the commencement of the sacred scripture's teachings by Shri Krishna. It depicts the setting of the battlefield of Kurukshetra, where the armies of the Kauravas and Pandavas, along with their allies, stand arrayed against each other. In this scene, mighty warriors from both sides prepare to demonstrate their courage and valor. Bonds of kinship, friendship, and ideology bind the combatants. Shri Krishna, aligning with the Pandavas, assumes the role of Arjun's charioteer, having vowed not to engage in combat himself. At this critical juncture, Arjun, torn by moral dilemmas, seeks refuge and counsel from Shri Krishna. It is then that Shri Krishna imparts the profound teachings of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjun.
